Colorado
The San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado offers beautiful rangeland
surrounded by the southern edge of the magnificent Rocky Mountains. The towering Mt. Blanca
is a main view for each 5-acre ranch site. There are no building restrictions: Camp your
RV, cabins, home, or mobile homes-all ok. No time limit when you have to build. Though there
is electricity in the area, and a number of dwellers presently, many chose to use generators
and solar power for efficient and affordable energy. Well and septic are also the norm.
Main highways lead to county maintained graded dirt roads into SLVR,
and jeep roads lead to each 5 acre ranch site. Nearby Blanca, Ft. Garland and Alamosa allow
for all the necessities. This area of Colorado gives one a real feeling of "riding the
ranges," with mountain ranges so close it seems like they're in your backyard acreage.
Horses are welcomed, and the state and southern Colorado offers a wild Horse adoption program
to build your horse ranch, for those with Colorado land ownership.
Costilla County has an abundance of elk, deer, and antelope, and
big time trout fishing is in nearby lakes and streams. Wolf Creek Ski Area is less than 1
hour west on Highway I60 for world class skiing. San Luis Lakes, surrounded by the Sangde
Christo Mountains and the Sand Dunes National Park, is only 16 miles away. The San Luis Valley
Ranches offers your family 5-acre ranch sites in a spectacular natural environment, at an
affordable cost.
Area counties of Alamosa, Costillo, Las Animas, Jefferson, and Douglas
all offer magnificent southern Rocky Mountain views, and range land to have your own family
ranch to pass down from generation to generation.
